fLtYmKnZm: If I wanted to build a public directory on the web, how should I go about doing it?
marshallh8saim: what kind of directory?
fLtYmKnZm: A directory of unclaimed creamated remains for the US
marshallh8saim: where do you get the information from? who reports it?
fLtYmKnZm: No one reports it yet and I would get mortuaries and crematoriums to enter the information
marshallh8saim: why do they go unclaimed? how many do you think there are? does something happen to them after some period of time?
fLtYmKnZm: All mortuaries keep them in a storage area on premises. They keep them as long as the mortuary is open for business. I don't know why they go unclaimed, probably for various reasons. I'm fairy certain there are thousands in the states dating back 100 years
marshallh8saim: ok, then come up with a site name, we'll register it, build a small site on a $8 a month plan and see what happens.. I was just trying to get an idea of the scale and what kind of interface should be built for it
fLtYmKnZm: Ok, can do
fLtYmKnZm: How about "Left behind"
fLtYmKnZm: or OrphanedAshes
marshallh8saim: maybe... ... should it be for all unclaimed remains?
marshallh8saim: I guess there wouldn't be much of anything else though
fLtYmKnZm: I want to start with ashes
marshallh8saim: ok
fLtYmKnZm: yeah, unclaimed bodies tend to get cremated unless someone donates money for a proper buerial
fLtYmKnZm: I want the crematoriums and such to be able to provide the maximum amount of information, in case there's no name.
fLtYmKnZm: Where they were found, contact information, that kind of stuff
marshallh8saim: ok
